In this webinar, Dr. Allori will review the anatomical variation that exists in cleft lip and/or palate. He will then provide a brief overview of historical attempts at cleft classification, description, and notation (documentation). Emphasis will be placed on the LAHSHAL and CLAP notational systems. Finally, he will present an overview of the ICD-10-CM system used for diagnostic coding in clinical practice and the ICD-10-CLAP expanded code set that may be used for research and epidemiologic surveillance. For further reading, the attendee is referred to PubMed references #26339868, #26523325, and #27891780.
